Capital Appeal – June Update

It’s been almost two months since our April 7th Embracing God’s Vision Celebration Sunday. Our original goal was to get three-year commitments totalling $150,000. While we are still hoping to get more commitments, we currently stand at three-year commitments totaling $253,905 and current cash contributions of $115,546! THANK YOU SO MUCH CROSS OF GLORY! God is working powerfully in each of you!

Join Us Publicizing CoG and VBS

Once again we participated in the New Lenox parade on Sunday, May 5th, the June 14th Canal Days, and the June 22nd Homer Parade – telling people about our upcoming God in Pixar VBS.

We will also march in the Chicago Pride Parade on June 30th.

VBS: God in Pixar – July 8-11

VBS 2019 will run from July 8-11.

The kids will gather up for an over-the-top adventure as each day’s activities will focus on different Pixar movies and characters. Kids will participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and enjoy yummy snacks, experience one-of-a kind Bible adventures, test out Science-Fun Gizmos & Crafts.

Adoption / Foster Support Group is open to everyone touched by the adoption or fostering process!

You may have questions that you just do not know where or whom to ask. You never know who needs to hear your story. It just may give someone hope and strength.

Women’s Event – Wine Glass Painting – Friday, June 21

Join us on Friday, June 21st, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm for a fun night of painting 4th of July Wine Glasses. The cost is $20 per person and includes 2 glasses of your choice and all the painting supplies. Work at your own pace. Advanced registration is required so there is enough supplies for all. You are welcome to bring a small appetizer or dessert, and beverage. How Fun!

PFLAG Group Meets Tuesday, June 25

PFLAG is a national support and advocacy group that unites LGBTQ people with families, friends, and allies.

Some of our members noticed the need for a local PFLAG chapter in this area and did what was necessary to create a chapter here in Homer Glen. This new PFLAG chapter meets on the last Tuesday of every month from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Cross of Glory.

Book Club – Thursday, June 27

The June book is The Woman’s Hour by Elaine Weiss. It deals with the fight in Nashville, Tennessee to ratify the 19th amendment in 1920.
