Media reports say the United States will not continue to fund the Lutheran World Federation-operated Augusta Victoria Hospital (click here for more info) in Jerusalem. The ELCA urges members to please call the White House hotline (202-456-1111) or write a comment in its comments submissions area to urge them to ensure there is no interruption of assistance for children and others in need of treatment for cancer and additional life-threatening diseases.

This week we will cover Chapter 28 in The Story, which deals with the early church. This post contains a study guide which provides a summary to this week’s readings and some questions to consider as you read Chapter 28. The World of the New Testament Church is a map which shows the geographic places mentioned in the next few chapters we’ll be reading.

Our next Dinner with Friends is on Wednesday, September 26. This is a great fellowship event – a chance to get to know people outside the church setting. (Please note: you are responsible for your own dinner, drinks, and tip.)

Youth Group is our FREE educational program for all youth from 6th through 12th grade. The group meets with Dan Murtaugh on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

Team CoG is participating in the Chicago Area Families for Adoption (CAFFA) annual Walk for Adoption. This walk started in 2010 with the purpose of celebrating National Adoption Awareness Month.
