|Based in San Miguel, Mexico, Casa de los Angeles is a free daycare for children. Every day the children receive two nutritious meals and a snack. For some of the children, these are the only meals they get. In addition to the meals, the children receive educational training, medical care, and lots of love. Casa is so much more than just a daycare. Casa also works with families to assist them in purchasing land and building homes. Every person who serves at Casa or is served by Casa is treated with dignity and respect as we work together to make a better life for all.|
|Cross of Glory has been a partner with Casa de los Angeles since it started in 2001. We partner with Casa by paying the mortgage for the building where Casa holds its free daycare, by receiving and depositing donations for Casa, by donating monthly to Casa, and by sending volunteer teams every year to help at Casa. We couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with a ministry that is making such a difference in the world.|

Donna Quathamer felt God’s call to serve the poor in Mexico. After much prayer, she left her teaching position at Lewis University, sold everything she had, and moved to Mexico. When Donna first arrived, she spent time walking the streets and asking people what would help make their lives better. Many of the mothers said they needed a place for their children to go while they went to work. Most mothers, due to their poverty, have to work outside the home. If they have a husband, which many do not, the husband is working also. This means that the children are left at home alone or on the streets during the day. In response to this need, Donna helped develop a free daycare for the children. This daycare is called Casa de los Angeles (House of the Angels).
Our church helped Donna open her first daycare center by taking responsibility for the mortgage on the building. That one daycare now serves over 60 children from the ages of zero to three. Every day the children receive two nutritious meals and a snack. For some of the children, these are the only meals they get. In addition to the meals, the children receive educational training, medical care, and lots of love.
On August 9th, 2008, Casa opened its second daycare facility. Our mission team was there for the grand opening. The new center is beautiful and will be able to serve so many more children and families.
