Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration 2019

Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration on Sunday, November 24th at 3:30 pm

For the second year in a row, the local pastor’s association (LHAMA – the Lockport Homer Glen Area Ministry Association) will be holding an Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration. This year’s celebration will be at St. Dennis Church, 1214 S. Hamilton Street in Lockport. Local Christian congregations, as well as representatives from the Jewish, Islamic, Hindu and Native American faith traditions will be participating. This is a wonderful way to stand in unity with not only our Christian brothers and sisters, but all our neighbors of different faiths. (It will also be a great opportunity to learn a bit about how other faiths express thanksgiving.) You can sign up on the welcome table to bring a dessert for the reception after the service.

One of our most popular summer services is coming up. Bring all your animal friends and tell all your people friends about Cross of Glory’s third annual pet blessing on Sunday August 4th. Don’t miss it – every pet wants a blessing (and a treat)! The service will be held outdoors.

On Wednesday, August 7th, we’ll have a second pet blessing at our 6:30 pm Summer Service. This one is indoors and should be smaller and more intimate. All pets are welcome!

Christmas Caroling – Wednesday, December 19th at 6:30 pm

This year’s caroling will be on December 19. We’re trying out different neighborhoods each year, and this year we’ll gather at Dana O’Brien’s house at 6:30, then head out into the neighborhood to sing Christmas carols. After we’ve delighted the neighbors, we’ll return for treats. Everyone is welcome (no singing talent necessary)!
