2022 New Member Bios

We’ll welcome new members in-person and virtually on Sunday, February 13thWe asked our new members to write a bit about themselves to help everyone get to know them better.

Steve and Lori Krueger
We met Dana when she was the associate Pastor at Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Elizabeth City, NC. We had some bad experiences in NC and the church was one of the main things we enjoyed and kept us going. We loved the people there and the way Dana got the messages across in a down to earth way the we could relate to. After she left we finally made it back to San Diego and Lori followed her on Facebook as she made her way to Cross of Glory. We couldn’t find a church out here that was what we liked about Good Shepard so we started watching from afar when I was in the hospital with Covid and Covid pneumonia. Just picked up where we left off in NC and loved our visit to your fall festival and an actual live service the following day. We are glad to be a part of a great and friendly congregation again.

John and Linda Di Miele
Linda and I have been residents of New Lenox for more than 30 years raising our 2 children to adulthood.  Our youngest lives in Joliet with our grandson and oldest lives in New Haven Connecticut. John works in HR for a global firm and Linda is nanny to our grandson.   We were active in our former church in youth ministry and later in development of a contemporary service.  More recently, our free time is focused on caring our elderly parents.   We are excited to join COG because we see a congregation and church that welcomes all people which is very important to us both as both our children are in the LGBTQIA community AND because we are called to love all people.  The pandemic slowed our progression to membership, but it gave us an opportunity to feel welcomed and loved through COG’s reach out during the pandemic.  We look forward to meeting more of the COG family as we do want to connect and become closer.

Louis Fournier
I attended Cross of Glory about 20 years ago, and recently found my way back here. During worship, you can often find me helping with the power point in the tech room. In my free time I like watching movies of all types, playing video games, taking nature hikes and biking. I love studying and discussing the bible. I also like cooking and taking care of my mother and stepdad.
