On Sunday, January 8, we began our 3-week sermon series on the Old Testament Book of Jonah. Only 48 verses, this book asks some challenging ethical questions about who we understand God to be and who we are as God’s people. We
looked at the first chapter, in which Jonah tries to run away from God — something I’m guessing most of us have done (or tried to do) on occasion.
On Sunday, January 1, the First Sunday of Christmas, we had a chance to sing more Christmas songs and hear the Christmas story told in readings and video.
On Christmas Day, we celebrated Christmas with a focus on the unexpected way God sent God’s Son to earth. And on the night before, we had two Christmas Eve services to celebrate the night Jesus was born. If you didn’t see the services, or want to see any of them again, check out this post.
We will have two candlelight worship services at Cross of Glory on Christmas Eve – one at 5:00 pm and one at 11:00 pm. The 5:00 service will be in-person AND live-streamed. The 11:00 service will be in-person only.
On Christmas Day, we will stream a pre-recorded informal service at 9:30 am. Join us from wherever you are! There will NOT be in-person worship on Christmas Day!
We’re gathering at 6 pm Wednesday, December 14, at Cross of Glory for some great food and fellowship. The meal starts at 6, and then we’ll talk about our Advent Conspiracy topics starting at 6:30. We’ll share how loving all can make this a special Christmas for all of us. If you can bring a food item to share, great. But come and join us regardless — we always have more than enough.
Join the Dashboard Saints for some Christmas music and more at their annual Christmas Concert and Party on Saturday, December 10th at 7:00 pm.. Bring a dessert or appetizer to share. This is always a very festive night!
Our Advent worship theme will focus on The Advent Conspiracy – how we can celebrate Christmas a bit differently this year, by worshipping fully, spending less, giving more and loving all. We’ll also have advent devotionals, mid-week meals, and other “Christmasy experiences”.
Our annual Visit with Santa is back! We’ll have Santa ready took place on December 3rd.
