January 8, 2023 – The Book of Jonah (Week 1)
On Sunday, January 8, we began our 3-week sermon series on the Old Testament Book of Jonah. Only 48 verses, this book asks some challenging ethical questions about who we understand God to be and who we are as God’s people. This Sunday we’ll look at the first chapter, in which Jonah tries to run away from God — something I’m guessing most of us have done (or tried to do) on occasion.
