Worship Update
From Pastor Dana…
Hi everyone,
Remember I sent you an email a couple weeks ago about beginning indoor worship at Cross of Glory on Sunday, November 1. And remember that email also said we want to remain flexible, so we can respond to any new Illinois or CDC guidance. Well, by now most of you know that Will County is now subject to COVID mitigation restrictions, including a cap of 10 people for indoor gatherings. And that means we will delay the start of indoor worship at COG for the time being.
Throughout this pandemic, one of our primary concerns as a congregation has been caring for our neighbors. It’s why we wear masks and social distance, even when we’re worshipping outdoors. It’s why we will implement even more safety precautions when we move inside. But at this point, delaying the start of indoor worship is the best way to both keep our neighbors and us safe and serve as good role models for our community.
So for right now, each Sunday we’ll have the band and other volunteers who put the service together at the building. And the rest of us are all invited to worship online at 9:30 via Facebook live. (Please feel free to comment and tell everyone you’re watching. I don’t know about you, but the comments always make me feel more connected.) As soon as Will County gets back to Phase 4, we can go ahead with plans to add an indoor worship option.
Thanks so much everyone! I trust we all know that we are church together, even when we are unable to physically worship together. We have a God who always shows up wherever we are, and who continues to do amazing things in and through us. And the people of God said . . .
Amen, People of God!
